SOME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS :
- How much does Superfit cost?
We can advise you of the cost of fitting a Superfit shank. The cost can vary depending on the type of ring and the metal you require. Please ask us to quote you.
- Which metals is Superfit available in?
Superfit is available in 18ct yellow and white gold and in platinum.
- Will the ring accidentally open when I am wearing it?
No, the special mechanism ensures that the shank remains firmly closed. When closing the ring listen out for the ‘click’ which assures you that the ring is properly closed.
- Will I catch the latch on my clothes and nails?
No, the invisible latch is completely flush which ensures a snag free operation.
- Is the mechanism visible?
No, the invisible mechanism means that only you will know that you are wearing a special Superfit ring. When you want to remove the ring you will see the small dimple which is depressed using the stylus to open. Please see the photos above.
- Can an old ring of mine be converted to Superfit?
Yes, most rings can be converted to Superfit, please ask us to check whether your ring is suitable for the Superfit shank.
- I suffer from arthritis, would Superfit mean that I can wear my rings again?
Yes! Many people suffer from swollen knuckles due to arthritis or other reasons. Superfit is designed especially to fit the base of your finger – not the knuckle which means that you can put your ring on with ease and be assured that it fits you correctly.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Prevent accidental opening. Listen for the “click” when closing. If the latch area is loose, this is a sign that your ring requires adjustment. Have your jeweller adjust the spring tension. If the “click” is absent, this may also be a warning sign. Continually wearing a ring in these conditions will gradually reduce its safety. Do not pull at the latch. Before allowing anyone to handle your ring, make sure they understand pulling at the latch will bend it out of shape. Repair or replacement of a damaged latch is not covered by warranty. To maintain your warranty and the precision of your ring have your ring inspected and cleaned by your jeweller every 6 months.
OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION
If your Superfit stylus is unavailable, use a dull pointed object or ballpoint pen to open ring. If the tip is too thick, it may not enter the dimple deep enough to release the latch. For those with impaired eyesight, the dimple may be darkened by the jeweller to make it more visible. Move the ring slightly back and forth while closing to keep skin clear of mechanism. For occasional cleaning use a soft brush with liquid soap on the open mechanism – then rinse and dry. If the ring has been subjected to a build-up of oil and dust, it may be difficult to open. Run warm water over the ring to soften the build-up.
